On November 28th, 21 student leaders representing Thorburn Consolidatd School (TCS) travelled to Halifax to the Atlantic Canada We Day Event as VIP's. The students were welcomed to the Scotiabank Centre and escorted to their special seats on the floor. During the event, TCS was given an honorable mention for all the work they do to help others at home and abroad.

In March of 2013, the school started a campaign called Change for Change. Each month students are encouraged to put their spare change in a can in their homerooms. Half of the money collected goes to the Free the Children Adopt a Village Program (the school helps support a village in Kenya to have clean water) and the other half goes a local charity, such as Pictou County Fuel, the SPCA, and Early Intervention. To date TCS has raised almost $4000!

Together the students at TCS are making a difference!
