Spelling to Greatness

On January 28th, six students in grades 3 to 5 competed in the first annual Harmony Heights Elementary School Spelling Bee. Students have been attending Spelling Club since mid-December and semi finals were held to determine the top two spellers from each grade level.  The first place winner from the Grade 3 class was Lexi Crowe; Brea Hayden took second place.

The Grade 4 and 5 students competed for a spot at the Chronicle Herald Spelling Bee which took place in Halifax on March 7th. Lauren Smith took first place, with Braxton Penny in second, Abbie MacKenzie third and Emma Cookfourth. All members of the Spelling Club should be very proud of their commitment and effort.
