The Chignecto-Central Regional School Board extends congratulations to the staff at East Pictou Middle School (EPMS) for their Continuous School Improvement (CSI) success!

Over the last three years, the staff at EPMS concentrated their efforts on two goals and achieved both:

  • By June 2014, there will be a 10% overall increase of student scores in practical math knowledge as measured by common grade level assessments.
  • By June 2014, there will be a 10% increase of EPMS students who will indicate on the NSSAP survey and a school-based survey that the school facilitates a safe, positive learning environment.

Continuous School Improvement emphasizes the engagement of school administration, teachers and school staff in an ongoing cycle of reflection and action within a professional learning community culture. The ultimate goal of any CSI process is improvement and positive progress for students. To learn more about CCRSB’s approach to Continuous School Improvement, you can read our handbook.
