On November 20th, the students at Cobequid Consolidated Elementary School got an early Christmas present: a $1,000 shopping spree at Coles Books!

Following an online contest, Cobequid Consolidated was “adopted” by the staff at the Coles book store in the Truro Mall. Coles’ staff members fundraised throughout the fall to raise money for books for the school.

Fifteen students, their parents and school staff spent time exploring the stacks at Coles and selecting 146 books for the school library. (The register receipt was 5.69 meters long!)

Students were given one simple instruction by principal Natalie MacInnis: choose a book that you would want to read. Once a student chose a book, he/she would then fill-out a label with their name and grade to be placed inside.

A big thanks goes out to the staff at the Coles in Truro. Your generosity made this possible!
