CEC students support local family

Students from the Health & Human Services 12 class recently held a fundraiser for a local toddler, Georgia Langille, and her family. The students went class to class taking pre-orders for cupcakes and juice. With the tremendous help from the Career Exploration Program department, three students baked 550 cupcakes! The cupcakes  and juice were delivered to every class the next day.

Thanks to the generosity of the student body, matching donations from some teachers, other in-kind donations from various departments within the school and a staff casual day, $1,468.00 was raised! The money was used to purchase items from which the whole family would benefit, including pedicures and much-needed one-on-one time for mom, Kristen, and her eldest daughter, Abbie, gas gift cards for the family's numerous trips to the IWK, a grocery gift card and a special needs swing for Georgia to enjoy in her backyard!
