Celebrate, experience and learn about the rich culture, history, achievements and contributions of people of African descent during African Heritage Month 2018!

The 2018 African Heritage Month theme “Educate, Unite, Celebrate Community” will honour and pay homage to people of African descent and their long legacy of uniting a passion that has provided a base to educate and celebrate an integral part of our province’s culture and heritage. This theme embraces education and encourages all to educate oneself about African Nova Scotian history and the many contributions made.  With more than 50 historic African Nova Scotian communities in our province, CCRSB celebrates this theme and invites all to join in and learn more about our rich African heritage.

“African Heritage Month 2018 will give people the opportunity to learn about and participate in various cultural events,” said Elizabeth Cooke Sumbu, executive director of Cumberland African Nova Scotia Association.
