Before and After Program Information
The Nova Scotia Before and After Program provides affordable before and after school care for children aged 3 to 12 years. Programs are located onsite in schools and delivered by regulated childcare and recognized recreation providers.

The following school communities will be partnering with local childcare providers to offer the Before and After Program at these locations:

- Tatamagouche Regional Academy (Information Coming Soon)
- Uniacke District School (Mount Uniacke Early Learning, Contact Information Coming Soon)
- Winding River Consolidated (Smiles and Chuckles, Contact Information Coming Soon)

How do I register my child for the Before and After Program?
If your child is registered for pre-primary in September at a school where the Nova Scotia Before and After Program is available, you can register by contacting the provider delivering the program directly. What is the cost of the program?
This is a fee-based program. The fee will be set by the provider. Depending on your household income, you may be eligible to receive subsidy to reduce the cost. For more information on Child Care Subsidy and to see if you are eligible, visit novascotia.ca/ChildCareSubsidy
What are the program’s hours of operation?
The provider will determine the program hours, but they based on family need. Typically, programs start at 7am and end between 5 and 6 pm.
